BTC 2017: Spain delegation

We are happy to present to you the members of the Spain Delegation with their project: “Without Limits”

School: FET Santa Teresa de Jesús Salamanca (Salamanca, Castilla y León)

Project Description: The students have focused their project on inclusion. In reflecting upon their reality, they realized that around them there were many people who had much to offer and whom they wanted to get to know closely. They have started to work and have created ties of friendship with the grandparents of the residence Madre de la Veracruz and with boys with different capacities of the Aviva Foundation of Salamanca, designing and working together in activities that promote social inclusion. With the motto: "You too can have a heart without limits" they want to invite us to discover, welcome and value all the people who are part of our society.

BTC 2017: Delegación de España

Estamos encantados de presentaros a los miembros de la Delegación de España con su proyecto: “Sin Límites”

Colegio: FET Santa Teresa de Jesús Salamanca (Salamanca, Castilla y León, España)

Resumen: Los alumnos han realizado su proyecto sobre la inclusión. Al revisar su realidad se dieron cuenta de que a su alrededor había muchas personas que tenían mucho que ofrecerles y a las que querían conocer de cerca. Se han puesto manos a la obra y han creado lazos de amistad con los abuelos de la residencia Madre de la Veracruz y los chicos con capacidades diferentes de la Fundación Aviva de Salamanca diseñando y trabajando juntos en actividades que promueven la inclusión social. Con el lema: “Tú también puedes tener un corazón sin límites” quieren invitarnos a descubrir, acoger y valorar a todas las personas que formamos nuestra sociedad.

BTC 2017: Israel delegation

We are happy to present to you the members of the Israel Delegation with their projects “Teach Kids” and “Stray Dogs”

School: “Teach Kids”: Merchavim School (Rishon L'zion, Israel) and “Stray Dogs”: Experimental School (Neveh Midbar, the Beduine village Abu Queder Negev Desert)

Project Description: “Teach Kids”: The students felt they wanted to help kids who are struggling with their studies and weren’t receiving the help they needed.  They brainstormed to imagine solutions and decided to establish an after school study center which they called “Teach Kids”. The idea was to offer help with homework to younger students using games and giving lots of personal attention.

“Stray Dogs”: One day when a student came late to school, out of breath and covered in mud the kids knew right away that there was a problem. The boy slipped in the mud running from a barking stray dog. His friends knew just how that felt and decided to solve the problem of stray dogs in their area. They imagined what if would be like to feel safe as they came to school and wanted to address this this problem for them and all the people who live in the area and experience the same fear.

Impact: “Teach Kids”: 20 student mentors and 40 children and “Stray Dogs”: 5000 people

BTC 2017: France delegation

We are happy to present to you the members of the France Delegation with their project: “Tackle inequalities in access to quality food”

School: Primary School St. Exupéry (Langon, France)

Project Description: Students started their project with one aim: contribute to the Global Goals! The global challenge of hunger (Goal  n° 2 “No hunger”) concerned them the most, specifically access of poor people to quality food. They observed people with less means did not have a healthy diet. They decided to create a shared garden and give access to the land to unprivileged families, hence giving them a chance to produce their own fruits and vegetables.
